Versace is one of the most desired and recognized fashion brands worldwide. They make luxurious clothing, bags, accessories, and jewelry. But are their watches any good? So many people have asked me this question and I’ve wondered about this myself. After I researched more about Versace watches, here’s my answer:
Versace watches are sub-par and not worth buying. Their high price tag is not due to their timepieces’ craftsmanship but instead because of their upscale brand name since they’re a well-known international fashion company. There are other timepieces on the market with higher quality and value.
I wanted to like Versace watches, but after I looked into them more, I immediately knew there were much better watches out there. Read on to view my full review of Versace watches, why I do not recommend buying them, and other watch brands I do recommend instead of Versace watches.
So Why Are Versace Watches Not Good?
After I spent hours looking into Versace watches such as the Versace Versus, I quickly realized that they are not watches I would recommend buying for two main reasons:

- Price Point
The movements in Versace watches were a real letdown for me. When I think of the Versace brand, the first thing that comes to my mind is luxury and top-of-the-line products. I found that most Versace watches use cheap quartz movements instead of automatic movements, which let me down because I thought they would have higher quality movements.
And since their movements are not the best and didn’t live up to my expectations, I realized that their timepieces are priced high just because of the Versace brand name instead of the craftsmanship put behind their watches. I was in shock when I saw that Versace watches cost $250 to $1,600 because I know so many other watch brands within that budget with higher quality (which are mentioned below in this blog post).
What Movements Are In Versace Watches
I found that what makes Versace watches not worth buying is the movement in their watches. An overwhelming majority of Versace watches feature quartz movements. While these quartz movements are reliable and precise, they are mass-produced, and I believe that it demonstrates a lack of dedication to making high-quality watches that live up to Versace’s brand name.
When I realized that most of their watches have cheap quartz movements, I was disappointed, to be honest with you. Since Versace is such a well-known and upscale brand, I expected their watches to have a much higher quality when it came to their movements.
As soon as I found this out, I knew right away that I would not recommend Versace watches because it shows they don’t put too much thought into their watches and I know there are far better timepieces with higher quality.
But to be fair, not all Versace watches have cheap quartz movements and they do implement automatic watches as well in some of their watches. Some of their watches on the more expensive side have automatic Swiss movements, which I think is a big step in the right direction. If Versace continues to release higher-quality watches with automatic movements, I would recommend them more.
What Materials Are In Versace Watches?
Versace uses a variety of materials to make their watches. The majority of Versace timepieces use stainless steel, yellow gold, leather, and rubber just to name a few. Versace uses these luxurious materials to make flashy and eye-catching watches.
If you want to know my opinion about Versace’s materials in their watches, I believe that they get the job done, but it’s nothing too spectacular. Many other watch brands use the same materials and metals in Versace watches, and if Versace wants to stand out, they need to implement higher quality and unique materials like titanium and platinum just to name a few.
I do like, though, the design of Versace watches. I like how they use their materials like gold and stainless steel and put their twists and designs to make their watches unique and stand out above other watches.
What Watch Brands Do I Recommend Instead Of Versace?
Since I do not recommend Versace watches, you may be wondering what kinds of other watches I recommend instead. I found that the price for a Versace watch can range anywhere from $250 to $1600, but I think they are worth less than that and you have better options. With that sort of budget, I believe there are plenty of better watch brands on the market that can give you a bigger bang for your buck.
Hamilton
In my opinion, Hamilton has much more to offer as a whole compared to Versace watches. Their reliable Swiss-made watches and movements are known to have a more sleek and stylish design with very precise movements, and their timepieces range anywhere from just below $500 to $2,000.
One of my favorite aspects about Hamilton watches is how versatile they are. Versace watches, many of their watches tend to be very flashy and bold, and they can be difficult to wear for certain occasions. But with Hamilton watches, offer a wide variety of timepieces that can keep you covered for any event.
TAG Heuer
TAG Heuer is more on the expensive side, but they are overall significantly better than Versace watches. If you’re someone who still wants a more prestigious brand like Versace to wear on your wrist that is reliable, stylish, and precise, TAG Heuer is one of the best brands to go for. You can find some of their most popular models like the Aquaracer and Formula 1 for around $1,200 to $1,600.
The reason why I recommend TAG Heuer over Versace watches is because of their rich horological history in motorsports and the luxury watch industry, which has made them one of the most respectable and well-known watch brands in the world.

Longines
In my opinion, Longines is one of the most underrated watch brands on the market today, and I recommend them much more than Versace watches. This Swiss watch brand pushes out some of the most high-quality watches at its given price point. You can find some of their most popular models like the HydroConquest and Master Collection for around the mid $1,000 price range.

Seiko
Seiko is a little bit more on the cheaper side, but if you’re looking for well-made and highly reliable timepieces, then Seiko is one of the best brands. For around the $350 to $1,000 mark, you can find plenty of versatile and gorgeous Seiko watches like the Presage and Prospex. Seiko is a watch brand that I highly recommend over Versace.
